Full Name: Zander HanSung Cho
Online Handle: zhsc
Occupation: Computer Science (BSci), senior year student
Dorming: Loki Court A48
Standing at 5’10”, Zander is slightly taller than the average Korean guy. You can say that he has the typical “pretty boy” appearance, with shaggy black hair falling over his eyes a little—that kind of thing. He has a skinny build, though not overly so. He isn’t particularly picky about his fashion sense, but will try his best to look his best (and often looks quite good), with nice shirts, pants, and some accessories to complement. He is at times fond of hats and hoodies.
His PB is Komiyama Yoh from Koukou Debut.
Zander is surprisingly indifferent to most things around him. He’ll either a) make the “-_-?” face, or b) shrug it off. If there is ever a way to catch him off guard, it can be done by proving him wrong—and doing it well. Zander isn’t very stubborn, so you can convince him over to your side if you really tried. He gets amused easily, but again, doesn’t show it very much if he can help it. He finds life much less problematic to go through that way.
He usually keeps most comments to himself unless someone asks for his opinion. You can say he’s quite withdrawn and even cold, but he’s not a bad guy. He is just unable to find the motivation to care about a lot of things, except maybe Computer Science, some mechanics, close family, and his hobbies. He doesn’t get noticeably angry either; he lets it out mostly by running or going out for the night, drinking a bit.
Zander grew up as an only child to a pair of Korean immigrants, who moved to the United States with him when he was ten. They soon opened up a restaurant, and though it was quite a while before the customers began to pour in, the family managed to live in a decent apartment for the duration. Thus, Zander grew up like any normal middle-class child would, attending public schools throughout his academic life. Of course, there was the cultural shock that he had to face, but the number of Koreans in San Francisco made the transition a bit better.
His life progressed as regularly as before, until he was exposed to the art of computer science when he was thirteen. It all began with him looking over his older relative’s shoulder, who was working on a program; Zander took interest and studied up on the programming language through textbooks and articles until he managed to make the computer respond to him in a game of Blackjack a few weeks later. This potential was definitely noticed by the family, causing the Chos to encourage and push him further. His programs started to become more elaborate than ever, before his current pact settled in.
It happened like this: it was a Friday, and a 16-year-old Zander was walking back from his high school, when a construction site nearby experienced a large crash. He threw it a glance and pretty much froze in the spot—a big strip of metal was swaying in the air, threatening to drop on the unaware workers. He was about to go tell them, until… a white-haired guy around his age appeared out of nowhere and distorted the metal enough so that when it fell, it did not hurt the workers. The guy began to hang around Zander after the incident (and they just happened to go to the same school, eh) and better late than never, Zander found out what the guy could do: not only could he control iron, he could also disappear—dematerializing, or so he called it. After they became friends, the spirit offered him a pact, and Zander, being curious against his usual judgment, accepted the offer.
The spirit called itself Baekho/Byakko, the ancient guardian of the West in East Asian mythology and ruler of the element iron. Having him as a friend in life wasn’t so bad, Zander realized. He still did his best at computer science, however, and applied to many universities overseas in hopes to study abroad. When he received a scholarship to Countshire, both he and his family were happy to oblige.

His potential lies in his ability to code and decode with speed. If he sees the instructions for a program, he has a knack for finding the quickest way to make the machine do the job right. In a similar way, if he sees an already written computer program, he can figure out how the original code was written. This ability also applies to machines, in that he can figure out how a system works, though he will only be able to explain the mechanics in words and nothing more.
His pact to Baekho/Byakko grants him the power of controlling iron. As long as there’s some kind of iron around him, he can mold the iron into any shape he desires. The more elaborate the transformation of the iron is, the more draining it is. He has to be able to see the iron or the material that contains iron in its entirety, though, for any of the power to be used; the power is more directly applied if the iron is in contact with him. He doesn’t make use of the ability that often but it comes in handy when he wants to beat up people.
He plays the guitar in his spare time and performs with the local bands when he can. He’s into some console games. He smokes occasionally, but only when he’s alone.
he also likes lowercase typing with some missing punctuation from time to time though he’ll spell things correctly. yes
