At first glance it is difficult to tell what gender Sophia is; both her face and body are near androgynous. Her hair is shoulder-length and blonde, her eyes are narrow and hazel-green, and her height tops at 5'10". Naturally, none of these aspects help in deducing whether she is in fact a "she" or a "he." The fact that she does have a chest, though a bit small, is the first thing that will give it away, if it noticed under the buttoned shirts Sophia likes to wear. But even her dress is somewhat androgynous, as she prefers slacks over skirts, but she has never really given it conscious thought. Even her perfumes contain both feminine and masculine scents. She does have ear piercings, though; one on the right and two on the left, but they are not always adorned with earrings.
Her PB is Homura from Sekirei.
Sophia could be described as boring. Among others, she is usually quiet. It is uncommon for her to add to conversation if it doesn't concern her; if she does say something, it might be bordering on sarcastic or careless. It isn't that she means ill-will, but that she is naturally a bit on the sarcastic side. More so, she finds it difficult to relate to other people and even harder to be compassionate or empathetic for them. Ironically, despite being raised in an environment in which she was forced to be able to deal with others, she is more adept at relating to animals than she is to humans. If she can get past this and become comfortable with someone, though, then Sophia is more lax and a bit more talkative, if not still sarcastic.
Regarding business relationships, though, Sophia is acceptable; she can talk - about business - and can be very polite to others. She is very professional. But that is all. She lacks the extra "oomph!" to be "successful."
Generally put, Sophia is a bit of a pessimist, sarcastic, stubborn, sometimes careless of her words, and distant with people, but she can be kind, respectful, and even supportive of others if she feels comfortable enough with them. Of course, this is more rare than the former. She genuinely would like her students to succeed, but is unsure of how she could make it happen.
Sophia was born to a very successful entrepreneur which held her and her younger brother responsible for following in their father's foot steps. While she did not much mind taking the required classes or attending meetings to understand the inner workings of the business world, Sophia's heart was not in it. From a very young age, she was more attached to animals. Sometimes, she would say that she could understand them, but it wasn't of any importance to the business aspect of her life, so her father would brush it off. Not that he thought she was dumb or anything; he would entertain the idea for a bit, smile and nod, but made nothing out of it. Sophia did not mind this much either; she chose to associate with creatures rather than people if she could help it. As such, the only times she really socialized with humans were in class, or in meetings, or basically in whatever her father thought was necessary to her education. This in itself was not much socializing, though, as Sophia did not "casually" talk with classmates or associates unless it was required for work or business relations.
After graduation, her father approached her about her future plans. From her track record, he did not think she was capable of entering the actual business world on her own; while she was academically ready and her social skills weren't bad, they weren't quite up to his standards. This was only a slight surprise to Sophia, but she agreed as well. Instead, why not try teaching what she had picked up from observation and practice from his company, combined with her academic knowledge, and teach it to other aspiring business students? Her father did not want to see all of their hard work wasted.
At first, Sophia was very reluctant to do it. She hardly knew how to deal with people on a more casual environment, and college students were definitely more casual than professional businessmen. However, she relented, as she, too, did not want their effort to be wasted. After attending college once again to get a degree in teaching, Sophia chose Countshire from the list of schools her father had recommended, and moved there in order to begin her career in teaching.
Sophia's potential is the ability to empathize with animals. From the time of a child, she began with primitive noises and hand motions, and it has now been smoothed out into clear understanding. This does not mean that all animals are her friends; of course it is easier to communicate with creatures such as dogs, cats, birds, and the like because they are mostly domesticated animals, but her range of empathy for animals is limitless.
Ironically, she is allergic to cats. (Not that this stops her from associating with them.)
She is fluent in English, Italian, and Spanish; decent in Japanese and German.
Sophia uses perfume from the Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, loves desserts (esp. parfaits), has cell phone charms that collectively weigh more than the actual phone, and is fond of the old, antique-look. She owns a dust-rose Nintendo DS and always eats out, as eating in would be suicide. (Sophia is a [lethally] terrible cook.) She also donates regularly to animal rescue charities and shelters. She has a driver's license, but chooses to bike, or take the train instead.
