The product of a marriage of extreme wealth and extreme beauty, Nora is predictably very, very pretty. Her features are all well-shaped and well-proportioned, though her lips are rather small, giving her a delicate, almost precious look sometimes. Large, almond-shaped green eyes stare out from under long lashes, framed by the woman's thick, curly mane of hair, which she usually keeps down in aesthetically pleasing tangles. Nora's physique, though modeled on a small scale (she's 5'1"), is voluptuous. The weight Nora put on after her first child seemed to go to all the right places and, though technically a bit over the healthy weight for her height, she has a figure most women would kill for. Her hips and thighs, perfectly rounded, pleasingly plump and deliciously brown, are enough to drive most men to their knees. And, though she does wear fairly tight fitting clothes, Nora does her best to keep her body completely covered, either with long flowing skirts and blouses or slacks and plush sweaters. She likes to be barefoot when at home (and sometimes around the laboratory...) but when in shoes, she's never without a pair of sizeable heels. She wears a bindi in the middle of her forehead, despite being divorced. Likewise, she still wears a stud in her nose as well.

Her PB is Oruha from the manga Clover.

Personality

Even before Nora became a mother, she was very maternal. She enjoys taking care of others, putting their needs before her own to the point of making herself a doormat. Within moments of meeting her, it becomes apparent that Nora is a pushover and, with enough coaxing, she could probably be convinced to do anything that was asked of her. This does not stem from ignorance, on the contrary, the woman is very educated and academically level-headed (she's hopeless when it comes to the humanities, though), but more a pressing need to be nurturing and a strongly held belief that she is only worth what other people can get from her.

The existence of Nora's temper is still under debate. When angry or frustrated, she is prone to tears or will remove herself entirely from the situation, presumably to cry. She will not be drawn into fights or even heated arguments, instead saying nothing at all or bending to the other person's opinion.

Some of her positive personality traits include sweetness, a decent sense of humor (though dirty or inappropriate jokes will most likely only earn you a gasp), intelligence, compassion and a generally easy-going nature. She is undramatic to the extreme and very prudent when not befuddled by emotion or the well-being of her child. She is also a loving person, perhaps too much so, and has a tendency of becoming involved in affairs with selfish and cruel men, who she merely labels as 'misunderstood'.
Background

Born into a family with money to burn, Nora's youth was anything but average. She was tutored, along with both of her older brothers, by an Englishman, something her father insisted upon as his father had insisted upon it before him and his father before him. Despite the post-colonial horror, Mr. Ash (the tutor) provided the Vijayasarathy children with a good education in Mathematics, Ancient History, English, Latin and Music. After this initial tutelage, Nora and her brothers were sent to boarding schools abroad. Nora ended up at an all girls' academy in Glasgow, where she pursued the Science track, focusing on Chemistry. She had always had a knack for cooking, she would humbly explain when asked about her prowess in the field, so Chemistry came easily enough.

At 18, Nora became engaged to marry a local boy, one who was neither particularly brilliant, handsome nor wealthy, but one she loved just the same, despite his occasional drunken rants. After an afternoon of exploring the Scottish countryside (something Nora had a nasty habit of doing alone and for hours on end), she reached a strange field, dotted with conspicuously placed stones. Excited to have found a presumed ancient druid worshipping ground, Nora wandered around the area, touching this and that, whatever was around. A strange feeling began to overtake her, a strange energy she later said, and the woman suddenly passed out, coming to well into the night. She spent the night in that field, wondering why she wasn't terrified. It was odd, that strange energy kept her feeling warm and safe, like she was somehow home.

A few days later, once she'd found her way back to her real home, it was back to wedding preparations. A few months later, Nora was married to her fiancé, but not before making a very puzzling discovery: she was pregnant, and a virgin. Afraid of telling anyone (she'd sound like a loon!), she kept the pregnancy hidden as well as she could. And, as the pregnancy progressed, she began to understand things about the circumstances, as though her baby was telling her what had happened. The understanding came slowly and as naturally as if she had come up with it herself, so the rather horrifying truth, that she'd become the vessel for a supernatural, false man, the Homunculus, seemed normal. Her husband, however, didn't take the discovery of Nora's pregnancy, preternatural or not, as well. Upon learning of his wife's 'infidelity', he got roaring drunk, slapped her around and left for good. The divorce papers were mailed to her a few weeks later.

Her family, who had a surprisingly indulgent view of the situation, did what they could to support Nora. After having the baby, they paid for a full-time nanny so that Nora could return to school and get her degree. But, over time, not even her family's money could keep her nanny around. The child was possessed, she'd say, he talks as though he's an old man already, understands too much. Homunculus, who grew at a normal human rate, did not develop mentally and verbally like a child, instead coming into the world complete in those senses. In time and with coaching from Nora, it (physically a he) learned to play the part of a child.

After earning her undergraduate degree, Nora was contacted by Countshire University and The Order. Her pact had come to their attention and they insisted that she carry on her studies at their institution. She did not care much either way where she studied, as long as the facilities were good, and went to Countshire only in order to avoid attracting any negative attention. She currently lives on-campus in a family accommodating dorm room, studies Chemistry and works as a research assistant to Prof. Caine.

IF YOU CAN'T OWN NORA, SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH YOU.

Nora and Homunculus pacted spontaneously out of a mutual need: Nora for a baby and Homunculus for a body. Homunculus is, in fact, a parasitic (slightly symbiotic) spirit, which gains a new materialized form with every pact it makes. Effectively, Homunculus is a male clone of Nora. As their pact was spontaneous, there are no objects which symbolize it.

The spirit Nora has pacted with, Homunculus, grows at a human rate and now appears to be four years old. He can, however, converse as well as any of the other ancient spirits and could probably scare the shit out of any sane person should he drop his childlike act. Nora's mother act, however, is never dropped, not even when she is alone with Homunculus. Even to him it is unclear whether she's really acting or not.

Nora's pact with Homunculus allows her to transmute the structure of molecules and compounds, transferring electrons from atom to atom for example, and change the state of matter of most earth-bound substances. Homunculus has also taught Nora a fuckton about plants, which allows her to brew very powerful potions and medicines.

Nora speaks English, Marathi and Hindi fluently.
