Standing at a height of 5’5”, weighing 110 lbs and with dark hair that does not even come to her shoulders, Giselle may look a little boyish. But her deep, purple eyes set her apart from many, and they are what some recognize her by. As for her clothing, she prefers a casual style and has a fondness for skirts. She alternates between wearing boots and rather simple dress shoes, though she has taken a liking toward the latter recently. Giselle is not one for brand names, having a tendency to go for economical clothing that looks good (as she calls them, “clothes that pay themselves.”) She rarely wears jewelry, for she believes that they get in the way. Her skin tone is fair even though she likes to walk outside very often.

Giselle is an outspoken and outgoing girl. She can be lighthearted (and when she is, you might get to see one of her big smiles), but mostly gives off a hardworking spirit. Though she is not enthusiastic about everything, she takes things in stride and comes out with a positive attitude. Because of this trait, it takes a while for her to absorb shocking situations; she usually needs a long time to deal with them properly.
Giselle has a tendency to openly show what she feels and can be quite clumsy when she’s uncomfortable. She has great sympathy for others, but is reluctant in showing much of it in apprehension that it may be mistaken for pity (and she greatly dislikes getting pitied, for one). She is generally a pleasant person to deal with unless you get on her bad side by hurting those close to her. Then it may be a good, long while before she even acknowledges your existence. Nonetheless, she looks forward to meeting new individuals and getting to know Countshire University as well as the town itself.
Giselle grew up with a loving set of parents who owned a small business in the town of Oxford. Ever since she was young, she received all the love that a child needed from her parents, who kept the store busy and going but looked after her as much as they could. Four years after her birth, Giselle became an older sister when her sibling, Elyse Celine Clare, was born. Even to this day, Giselle is very close with her family, giving them a call at least once a week and writing e-mails every so often.
Back to her childhood: the Clare family made a living by selling antiques and other decorations and accessories. They had a big basement filled with all the old collections that her parents had accumulated over the years, and this was where Giselle developed her curiosity. She proceeded to look through every box and memorize what was in each one. One day, her parents removed a small locket from the basement and Giselle came up to them after a day, asking where it went. The dialogue went something like this: “How did you know it was gone?” “I saw it once in one of the boxes down there.” “Once?” “Yeah. Once.”
Extremely gifted in the department of memory, Giselle excelled in certain classes, but not so much in a class like physical education. In time, she not only came to use her memory skill in school, but used it more to concentrate on her surroudings—memorizing routes to get to places quickly and the like, to make getting around and finding new places easier for her. Another fact that she discovered a few years ago was that due to the help of her memorization skills, her senses of sight and hearing had been heightened a good deal, to the point where she can see a magician quickly hiding objects during a performance and hear extremely high pitches of noise.
At school, she kept a somewhat low profile, concerned that her little secret would be discovered, and mostly kept these two abilities to herself until she decided to apply to Countshire University. Thanks to some family savings and a good amount of scholarships from here and there, Giselle was able to attend Countshire. She is, at the moment, an aspiring Criminology and Law undergraduate student, for she wishes to use her abilities for the good of the world.

Giselle’s heightened sight and hearing ability does not imply that she can see far and/or hear everything “louder.” Instead, she is able to observe motion that normal humans would not be able to see (mostly due to speed) and hear frequencies at a much higher rate.
