Basic Information

Full Name: Anastasiya Viktorovna Sato-Chernova
Online Handle: Ananova
Occupation: Modern Dance (BA), second year student
Dorming: TBD

Anastasiya inherited most of her looks from her mother. As a result, you can’t really tell she is of a mixed heritage. She has dark-colored, waist-length hair and violet eyes. She stands at 5’7” with a rather skinny build and an average score in the curves department. She prefers to wear casual clothing, but has her fair share of dresses and “girlier” clothing to show off her dance-toned body. She just doesn’t like to be in those clothes all the time, since she can’t move well enough to dance, after all.

Her PB is Sui from Double Arts.

Personality

Ana is very forward and does not hesitate at all in what she wants to say—even if that something is derogatory. She figures she’d rather be honest face to face than to think the insult or share her bad opinion with someone else later. After all, if the person is right in front of her, why not say it then? However, she’s not necessarily confrontational; she tends to wave life’s drama off her and slip into apathy when she has to deal with disagreements. As far as she’s concerned, she can’t be bothered with people who don’t know how to cool off in due time.

Though generally loud and boldly outspoken, she can be a nice, cheerful person in her happy mood. Either that, or she wants to get something out of you, but she’s usually not that manipulative—only when she wants to get out of trouble. In short, she’s swayed by her moods easily.

She’s also out of control from time to time in what she does—she’s a wild party animal at heart. If it weren’t for her family standards, she’d be out almost every night and stay out.

Background

Anastasiya is the grandniece of the current Ivanov family head. From Vsevolod’s older sister’s family line, her father Viktor ended up marrying a Japanese woman who gave birth to her. As a result, Anastasiya also has a Japanese name Emi, although she is much more accustomed to the ways of her father’s family and prefers to go by Ana.

She was enchanted by ballet when she happened to see a performance on TV when she was five. Unfortunately, the Ivanov family as a whole was going through an economic crisis during the 1990s, so she had to resort to attending local ballet classes that met once every two weeks for basic, free practice taught by a middle-aged, but kindly dance teacher in the neighborhood. It did not take her long to fall in love with other types of dances as she grew older. She especially took a liking to modern and hip-hop dance for their freedom of movement and room for improvisation and creativity. She began dancing on her own, meeting others who were interested in the same subjects in school to often practice together. She competed with and against different dance groups in competitions and came to revel in what dance represented to her: a feeling of freedom from the generally heavy atmosphere of her family, regardless of the fact that she was a distant relation to the Ivanovs, and well, dance was fun.

As a rather reckless, outgoing child, she had many friends, and among them were troublemakers. Her parents did not exactly approve her choice of hobbies either—she often came home late at night from dance-offs or parties. The warnings from her parents (especially her rather stern father) did not stop Ana, though, and she continued her nightly adventures—sometimes with friends, sometimes with boys. In the latter case, she was careful with her excuses, of course.

She applied to various universities as a dance major, but her family’s choice for her was natural when Countshire let her know of her acceptance. Ana doesn’t quite know how to feel about so many family members—the main Ivanov family at that—being at Countshire, but she figures she can win them over if she needs to. Tough family will be just another challenge to overcome on the side as she reaches for that dream of being a professional choreographer one day.

She is fluent in English and Russian. She can understand and speak a good level of Japanese, but tends to fail at writing it.
